IV Therapy for Today – Skills Refresher
Best for participants who have already completed IV training and need hands-on practice/check-off.
This course is designed for participants who already have prior IV therapy education or experience and need a focused hands-on refresher. It is ideal for professionals who have been away from IV skills, want additional practice, need confidence-building, or require skill validation for workplace readiness.
The refresher focuses on hands-on skills practice rather than full didactic instruction. Participants may review supplies setup, vein selection, site preparation, peripheral IV insertion technique, aseptic technique, troubleshooting, IV removal, documentation, and competency check-off.
This course may be right for you if:
You do not need a full IV therapy course, but want supervised hands-on practice and competency validation.
Skills and competencies covered:
Supplies setup, vein selection, peripheral IV insertion practice, infection prevention, troubleshooting, IV removal, documentation review, and competency skill check-off.
Completion:
Participants who successfully complete the refresher receive a Certificate of Completion verifying completion of hands-on skills practice and competency skill check-off.
IV Therapy for Today – Skills Remediation
Best for participants who did not meet competency requirements during an IV Therapy for Today course
This course is required for participants who do not successfully meet competency requirements during the IV Therapy for Today – Basic for Professionals, IV Therapy for Today – Advanced, or IV Therapy for Today – Basic + Advanced course.
The Skills Remediation course provides targeted instructor support, corrective feedback, and additional hands-on practice in the specific skill areas where competency was not demonstrated. Remediation may include review of peripheral IV insertion technique, supplies setup, vein selection, aseptic technique, IV maintenance, IV removal, advanced line care, documentation, complication recognition, or other course-related skills based on the participant’s performance.
This course may be required if:
A participant needs additional guided practice and reassessment before receiving successful competency completion for the original course.
Skills and competencies covered:
Targeted skill review, corrective practice, instructor feedback, hands-on remediation, competency reassessment, documentation review, infection prevention, and skill-specific validation based on the course requirements.
Completion:
Participants who successfully complete remediation receive documentation of completion for the required remediation session and competency reassessment. Completion is based on successful demonstration of the required skill competencies following additional practice and instructor evaluation.
